What is included?
The inspection scope is agreed before the visit and can include recording the door's location or identifier, visible condition, observed defects and supporting photographs where appropriate. Reporting should make it clear what was inspected, what could not be checked and what action may be needed.
- Door identification and location records
- Observations of the door leaf, frame, gaps, seals, hinges, closer, glazing and ironmongery where accessible and within scope
- Photographic evidence of relevant findings
- Defect descriptions and suggested priorities
- Summary of limitations, inaccessible areas and recommended follow-up
Reporting and remedial recommendations
Reports can be organised so the client can trace each finding back to a specific door. Recommendations are based on observed conditions and the agreed scope; repairs should be undertaken by suitably competent people using appropriate compatible components and instructions.
Who may need this service?
Potential clients include managing agents, facilities managers, housing providers, commercial property owners, care and education premises, and other organisations responsible for maintaining fire doors. Suitability and scope should be confirmed for each site.
